Federal Budget Delivers for Domestic Violence Support Services
The Member for Whitsunday has welcomed the Federal Government’s Budget measures for domestic violence support services.
“Today the Federal Government unveiled a comprehensive budget aimed at bolstering domestic violence prevention services and supporting women.
“Meanwhile, the Palaszczuk Labor Government continues to abdicate its funding responsibilities.
“The Federal Government’s announcement of $1.1 billion in funding for women’s safety, including $1500 emergency cash payments for women fleeing violent relationships, is a vital and welcome measure.
“The advocacy I have led with my Federal counterparts will deliver outcomes for women.
“I know this will make a great difference to the many service providers and stakeholders I have spoken with, to ensure they can continue to support people affected by domestic violence.
