Queensland Government Must Answer Questions on VMR Blue Water Review

The Member for Whitsunday, Amanda Camm MP, has called on the Queensland Government to answer questions about the VMR Blue Water Review.

“The Queensland Government must address the issues raised by local Volunteer Marine Rescue groups regarding the proposed Blue Water Review.

“Concerns have been raised about the requirement for each squadron to disincorporate and transfer all of its assets, including boats, buildings and cash, to the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services.

“The VMR is a vital service to our community. We must do everything we can to ensure they continue to operate efficiently and independently.

“I support the efforts of VMR and recognise their importance to Mackay and the Whitsundays.

“Now is the time for the Queensland Government to stand up and listen.”
