I welcome the Federal Government’s $1.2 billion package announced today.

The commitment to provide assistance to the tourism industry through the Tourism Aviation Network Support, Business Events Grants Program and other initiatives will provide a much-needed boost to the region.

I will be continuing to advocate to the Queensland Labor Government to support the Whitsundays.

The Queensland Labor Government should fast-track infrastructure projects such as the Conway Circuit mountain bike trail, the Whitsunday Skyway, as well as provide ongoing support for marina berthing and payroll costs.

I will continue to take up the fight in Queensland Parliament to ensure the Mackay-Whitsunday region is receiving equitable support throughout this recovery.

I will continue to engage with Federal Member for Dawson George Christensen MP, Whitsunday Charter Boat Industry Association and Tourism Whitsunday Members to monitor the rollout of the package across the sector.
