Fund Infrastructure to Aid Whitsunday Tourism Recovery

Today I called on the Palaszczuk Labor Government to deliver investment for shovel ready projects in the Whitsunday region.

With JobKeeper ending at the end of this month, the State Government needs a practical plan of recovery for tourism affected regions.

The Queensland Government can deliver investment for shovel ready projects as part of the tourism recovery.

Upgrading trails such as the Kingfisher Circuit in the Conway National Park and Mountain Bike Trail, investing in the Coral Reef Restoration program, and developing the next stages of the Peter Faust Dam.

The Palaszczuk Labor Government’s new financial counselling support program for the tourism industry is flawed.

Tourism operators still have to find the funds to seek the advice before the funding is matched.

With some businesses operating at 15% in the Whitsundays, the industry deserves equitable support.
