The Member for Whitsunday has welcomed the Federal Government’s announcement to reduce insurance premiums in North Queensland.   

“Today the Morrison Government announced their $10 billion government guarantee to drive down insurance prices for North Queensland.

“The reinsurance pool will cover cyclone and related flood damage from 1 July 2022.

“This will reduce premiums by up to 50% for families, strata and small businesses.

“I have been advocating beside George Christensen for this support and intervention since being elected.

“I know this will make a great difference to the many residents who have reached out regarding their concerns with the rising cost of insurance premiums.
