Petition Launched to Fix Shute Harbour Boat Ramp

The Member for Whitsunday, Amanda Camm MP, has launched a petition to fix the Shute Harbour Boat Ramp.

Following a meeting with the local fishing community last week at Shute Harbour, residents expressed their frustration and disbelief at the standard of the newly developed $1.8 million Queensland Government-funded boat ramp.

“Today I have officially launched my petition calling on the Palaszczuk Labor Government to fix the Shute Harbour Boat Ramp.

“The local fishing community was not consulted in the design process. The impracticality of the boat ramp means it is unsafe, and at times impossible, to launch a boat from.

“We will be inviting the Minister for Transport and Main Roads to visit the region and speak to constituents on the ground.

“He can’t hide in his office in Brisbane.

“This boat ramp must be fixed now. The community deserves better.”
